Samsung Health Monitor app will bring blood pressure reader for Galaxy Watch series

Samsung Health Monitor app will arrive soon for several Galaxy Watch devices. Among the main features brought by this application, we have on the go blood pressure monitoring. It’s a quite promising feature, but it has a catch. First of all, you need to calibrate the initial measurement with a stand-alone blood pressure monitor. During that procedure, users will need to start the Galaxy Watch’s blood pressure tracking feature. It makes use of the optical heart-rate sensor and reads your blood pressure via pulse wave analysis.

Samsung ensures that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is the best way to monitor your blood pressure. After the initial calibration, the company recommends you to repeat the process once a month to ensure accurate results. Unfortunately, the new Samsung Health Monitor app is still in development. However, the whole fact that it has passed the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety means that it will be rolling out soon enough.

Users will need to pass through the app initial setup and soon after it will be able to access the “measure my blood pressure” feature. Just like the Galaxy Watch app, users will also be able to check the info via the smartphone application. They can save blood pressure values for comparison with future results.
