Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, will unveil the MIUI 12 system on April 27. Since the company stopped releasing beta updates for MIUI 11, there have been a series of speculations regarding MIUI 12. However, the days of speculations are over and Xiaomi is now officially teasing MIUI 12 features. In recent times, we have seen a lot of speculation regarding the MIUI12 system. Xiaomi will add a lot of features to make this system better and more secure. Presently, there is an unofficial app which users use to check if their device is eligible for the MIUI 12 update. However, we can not really trust the output of the app.
Xiaomi’s latest system will be available on launch day
According to Zhang Guoquan, director of the Xiaomi mobile phone system software department, the MIUI 12 system can be upgraded on the day of the press conference (April 27).
However, the company is also advising MIUI fans not to participate in the numerous fake MIUI 12 testing programs across different channels. Xiaomi India said
“It has been brought to our attention that multiple fake MIUI12 testing programs were spotted across different channels recently. In the interests of our MIUI users, we hereby clarify that the MIUI testing programs will be launched only through Xiaomi’s official channels which refer to Mi Community and Official MIUI Social Handles. Please do not apply for any testing programs unless released across our official channels. Stay tuned, thanks for your understanding and support”.

Also, Xiaomi will add a system-wide Dark Mode 2.0 feature. This is an upgrade to the Dark Mode 1.0 on MIUI 11. Xiaomi’s latest system will also support Vientiane Screen and its AOD (Always-On-Display) supports non-linear animations. Furthermore, the company promises that it has over 1000 third-party animated AOD styles.
MIUI 12 camera interface has multiple colours
Following yesterday’s first exposure of Xiaomi’s MIUI12 camera interface, Xiaomi’s camera department product director @Queena_ Xiaomi (Weibo handle) has announced more details of the MIUI 12 camera interface. According to @Queena_Xiaomi, in addition to the simpler overall design, the new camera interface also supports custom function layout and colour customization. Users can choose from five colours which include yellow, pink, purple, blue, and green.
MIUI 12 system focuses on privacy
Xiaomi’s latest system even got certified by German TÜV Rheinland. According to Xiaomi, MIUI 12 privacy protection technology is the company’s self-developed open-source program called “MACE” (Mobile AI Compute Engine). MACE is an AI framework and it is specifically for mobile devices.
