LG Velvet Launch Date & Colors Revealed


LG Velvet is the new upcoming mid-range flagship-level device from LG that is going to replace the G-series lineup for LG. And hence, the hype for this particular smartphone is real. Earlier, there were rumors that LG is going to reveal the smartphone on May 15. But now LG has released a teaser that rejects all the previous rumors about the release date. According to a new 15-second video, LG is all set to unveil Velvet on May 7th.

Talking about the new video, it showcases the beautiful camera setup that exists on the LG Velvet. LG Velvet as the name suggests is a symbol for its elegant design. LG Velvet will feature a raindrop camera setup, which is a triple camera setup. In the footage, LG has also hinted at the color options that will be coming for LG Velvet. The colors include Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset.

The video also tells us about the release date of LG Velvet. The device will be unveiled officially on the morning of May 7th at 10 AM KST. In other words, that would be 9 PM ET on May 6th. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the event will take place online. You will be able to watch the online event through LG’s official YouTube and Facebook accounts.

The only confirmed specification as of now is the Snapdragon 765G chipset which means the smartphone will be supporting 5G. The display is tipped to be around a 6.7-inch or 6.9-inch OLED  screen with an in-display fingerprint reader. Backed up by a 4000 mAH battery and a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. Other than that, the device is also rumored to have Dual Screen support as well as Pen support.

Talking about the expected price of LG Velvet, it is rumored to be around 800,000 KRW or around $650. The device will go on sale starting mid-May. If the phone is aggressively priced as expected, it can be a revival for the LG smartphone business.
