Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, is currently working on a plethora of 5G smartphones. Recently, two of these devices passed through the 3C database. The Xiaomi 5G phones come with model numbers M2004J7AC and M2004J7BC. Their charger models are MDY-11-EM and MDY-11-EX. While former supports 22.5W fast charge and the latter supports 33W fast charge.
According to speculations, this is the upcoming Redmi Note 10 series an not the Note 9 series. Recall that the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max have already been unveiled and their models are M2003J6A1I and M2003J6B1I. This suggests that the two new Xiaomi 5G phones are probably new series models.
Gizchina News of the week
Redmi may skip the Note 9 series in China. This will not be the first time it is doing that. Recall that the Redmi Note 6 series did not launch in China. Although it is available outside China, the company moved straight to the Note 7 series from the Note 5 series in China. Therefore, there are rumors that Redmi may sell the Note 10 series in China. Leaving out the Note 9 series.
Previously, Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, suggested that Redmi would use MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor. This is a dual-mode 5G SoC that supports SA and NSA networking. While the Redmi Note 10 will use the Dimensity 800, the Pro model will use the Dimensity 800+.
Recall that a recent internal document disclosed that Xiaomi will have a new 5G phone in June. For now, this smartphone should be the upcoming Redmi Note 10 series which just got 3C certification. This device may become the cheapest dual-mode 5G mobile phone. We expect nothing less from Xiaomi, especially from its Redmi sub-brand.
This also means that the competition in the 5G mobile phone market is intensifying. The prices of 5G phones are falling drastically and we will probably have entry-level 5G phones soon.
