IMO Q2 Plus smartphone is a 4-inch device with LTE that costs £30 ($37)

It’s official, the sub-6-inch smartphone is becoming incredibly scarce in this market full of bezel-less displays. However, this isn’t as bad as before, since, with solutions like punch holes, waterfall curves, and waterdrop notches, companies are able to reduce the form-factor of a smartphone. So a 6-inch handset isn’t the same as it was in 2015. If standard 5-inch handsets are rare nowadays, what to say about 4-inch handsets? They were quite popular ten years ago, however, we believe the using one nowadays would be painful. Despite this, the IMO Q2 Plus True Blue handset is here for all compact phone believers!

It’s an UK exclusive smartphone since it will be available through EE one of the country’s major carriers. It has a 4-inch screen and a whopping price tag of just £30 ($37). To make things more interesting, this isn’t a feature phone or a capped smartphone. It runs Android 9 Go edition, which is truly acceptable for a super-cheap phone.

Gizchina News of the week

The IMO Q2 Plus truly has a feeling of nostalgia. It boasts a 4-inch FWGA display with 854 x 480 pixels of resolution. The panel has thick bezels and capacitive buttons. Under the hood, the handset boasts an unspecified Quad-Core CPU with just 1GB of RAM. The handset has LTE connectivity and 8GB of Internal Storage, this can be further expanded with a microSD card. The camera department isn’t what we call “capable”. We have just a 2MP main camera and a 0.3MP. Despite this low resolution, the company states that it has face unlock capabilities.

As we said before, it will be available through the British Carrier EE later this week. While it may not be truly relevant for users outside of the UK, it’s still interesting to see smartphone makers betting on sub-4-inch devices.
