Tomorrow, Xiaomi is going to announce the Redmi Note 9 series globally. The Redmi Note 9 series was first unveiled in India. Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Note 9 Pro Max are the two phones which were launched in India. While talking about the European launch, we might see a vanilla Note 9 as well. But what most interesting is that the Note 9 series is not coming to China.
The Redmi director Lou Weibing stated this on Weibo:
The company does not plan to releaseĀ Redmi Note 9Ā in the Chinese market, our goal is to focus on the production of 5G-enabled phones, expanding our portfolio with new models.“
This clearly gives us a hint that Xiaomi is working on the Note 10 series in China. Now, this is not the first time that the Chinese market will skip a Note phone. Redmi Note 6 series was skipped in China and Note 7 series was launched directly. Secondly, the time difference between the launch of the Note 8 series and Note 9 series is not too much. And currently, the Note 9 series is not something that can be called an actual “successor” to the Note 8 series. There was not a huge jump from Note 8 to Note 9 series, but that’s all because the Note 9 series was revealed only after 4-5 months after the Note 8 series. Hence, they may not have launched the Note 9 series in China.

Please, someone explains to Xiaomi that series are supposed to last around a year.. otherwise it will be just a release of multiple devices with the same name + a random number alongside it.. I swear this habit of rushing things and updating the Note series every 4 months takes away the joy of using those phones.
