In 2018, Xiaomi’s launched a sub-brand in India dubbed Poco. The objective quickly became clear when the brand announced the Pocophone F1. It was a true flagship killer bringing the Snapdragon 845 SoC to a very affordable price tag. Despite the huge success, Poco had a long hiatus during the last year. Xiaomi tried to repeat the success with the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro and while they were successful devices, the Pocophone F1 fans were still waiting for a true successor for the biggest 2018’s surprise. This year, Xiaomi decided to revive POCO as a separate brand launching the Poco X2 (Redmi K30 4G) in India. Now, the company is bringing the highly-anticipated Pocophone F1 successor, it will be called POCO F2 Pro and will be officially available on May 12.
Yesterday, a reputable tipster revealed the launch date through Twiter. As per his post, the handset will be globally released tomorrow in Spain at 14:00 local time. Now, POCO revealed that the leak is true by confirming the Global launch of POCO F2 Pro.

POCO F2 Pro specifications
Despite POCO’s initial claims, and very much to Poco F1 owners dislike, the POCO F2 Pro seems to be just a rebranding made on the Chinese Redmi K30 Pro. While the K30 Pro is a very capable handset, however, it’s not exactly the cup of tea of smartphone enthusiasts. First of all, it’s does not hit the price point of the original Poco F1. Although this isn’t a surprise, smartphones are much more expensive than they were two years ago. The second controversial point is on its display with a “standard” 60Hz refresh rate. The Redmi K30 aka POCO X2 boasts an LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. We know that the company had to cut some corners, but this wasn’t very appreciated by Redmi and POCO fans. Considering that there isn’t any surprise coming with this rebranding, let’s dive into the specifications of the POCO F2.
The new flagship killer will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and comes paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Storage. These specifications are built around a 6.67-inch truly-bezel-less display with FHD+ resolution. As we said before, this is a standard panel with just a 60Hz refresh rate. To achieve its bezel-less nature, the handset comes with a motorized 20MP pop-up camera.
Moving around to the back we have a circular Quad-Camera setup comprising a 64MP main, 13MP Ultrawide, 5MP telephoto macro, and 2MP depth sensors. The handset has an in-display fingerprint scanner and draws power from a 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast-charging. The Redmi K30 Pro comes in Grey, Blue, White, and Purple color options and the price starts at $549.
