It’s natural to see Huawei releasing multiple versions of its flagships and among them, we have the usual Lite variants. After the launch of the Huawei P40 series with 5G connectivity, it’s natural to expect the arrival of a Lite variant with the same treatment. The rumored Huawei P40 Lite 5G is coming soon to complete the P40 lineup, but it won’t be a brand new smartphone. Interestingly enough, it will be a rebranded Huawei Nova 7 SE.
Gizchina News of the week
Curiously, the Huawei P40 Lite is a rebranded Nova 7 SE which obviously lacks 5G connectivity. The new model will be powered by the Kirin 820 5G SoC. It’ll represent a massive upgrade over the vanilla Lite in both CPU and GPU. Moreover, the P40 Lite 5G will have a 64MP main camera that can shoot 4K videos.
Apart from the internals, what remains to be seen is the actual pricing of this new variant. The 4G-packed variant was released at €430 originally, but now it costs €270. According to a French retailer, the new 5G version will cost up to €500. Assuming that Huawei isn’t preparing a new exclusive color for this launch, we can expect the new handset in just three colors: Midnight Black, Space Silver, and Crush Green.
