Honor has launched the Honor 9X Pro in India. An interesting point about the device is that it is first-in-line to debut with Huawei Mobile Services in India. This means the smartphone comes with a dedicated App Gallery replacing Google’s Playstore. The handset which was rumored to launch last year, has finally made its way to the Indian Market.
The smartphone is priced at Rs.14,999 during the Special sale that will be from 21st May, 12 PM to 22nd May, 12 PM post which the device will retail for Rs.17,999. It has only one variant with 6GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage. However, The Interesting aspect of the device is the App Gallery designed by Huawei.
The App Gallery is a visionary step by the company and right from the launch, the company is going all in to lure developers to design more apps for it. The app already has many alternatives to Google Mobile Services (GMS) like a dedicated partnership with MapmyIndia recently to make its popular Move app exclusively available for users to help them navigate their way and not miss their old Google Maps application.

Gizchina News of the week
Additionally, the company has been actively negotiating with developers to bring popular apps to the App Gallery and try to create a virtual play store through its service thereby attracting customers who are addicted to Google services.
Further, the company has ensured that popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter will eventually be available on the App Gallery soon.Recently, the company made partnership with Hungama in India to allow users to enjoy the world of Hungama Music and Hungama Play through its App Gallery.
The company was forced to take such a decision following a tussle with the US government over security issues and as a result losing support for Google Mobile services on its devices. But this has made the company work harder towards an alternative platform, without giving too much hassle to the users.
The result was the App Gallery going live a few months back. The service, which was made available in 170 countries initially, is getting expanded increasingly with all the popular apps landing on the new Play Store’s alternative.
Apart from this Huawei also offers a dedicated Huawei Clone App for users who are coming from an Android phone with GMS to clone their app data and entire apps to their new Huawei smartphone.
All in all, the new Honor 9X Pro with compelling specifications like the Kirin 810 SoC, 4000mAh battery, USB-C port, 48MP Sony IMX 582 equipped quad-camera setup, running on Android 9 Pie based on AOSP program is definitely a compelling offering.
