Redmi 10X coming with dual SIM 5G support, microSD card support and AMOLED display

Redmi 10X

Redmi is gearing up to unveil a new smartphone series called Redmi 10X in China. Interestingly enough, this series is made of a familiar face – the global Redmi Note 9. In China, it will be released as Redmi 10X 4G. The truly new devices are called Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro 5G. One of the most exciting points of this new smartphone is that it will debut MediaTek’s brand new Dimensity 820 5G SoC. This particular chipset offers performance that is far superior to what we have in the mid-range segment, even surpassing the Snapdragon 765G.

One of the interesting points of this chipset, apart from breaking over 400,000 pints in AnTuTu, is that it allows dual standby functionality on 5G. Therefore, both SIM cards can be connected at the same time. Now the question that might come to your mind is, why one would need two active 5G cards? Well, 5G still gives its first steps, and the coverage isn’t the best at the moment, especially a way of great centers.

With the newer chipset, users of the Redmi 10X 5G will be able to switch between two carriers to see which one is offering the best connectivity at a specific area. Redmi decided to tease this feature as well as others to build the hype for the upcoming May 26 event. Worth noting that the teasers also serve to confirm the availability of microSD card support. However, you’ll have to choose between dual-SIM or single SIM + microSD card.

Gizchina News of the week

Both Redmi 10X 5G and 10X Pro 5G are coming with AMOLED displays

Besides the seamless 5G connectivity, the company is also teasing the AMOLED displays. Both smartphones are going to come with AMOLED panels, which makes us wonder how much it will cost? According to reports, the 10X 5G will be a cheap 5G device, but now, with the AMOLED display we’re not sure if it will reach the sub-$300 price tag. Thanks to the panel, the company will enable the Always On Display feature on MIUI 11. Therefore, users will have a wide array of customization features including customizable text, patterns, and even images.

There’s even a teaser video revealing how the Always-On Mode will work and all the features available. Interestingly enough, the smartphone will come with MIUI 12 Super Wallpapers.

Unfortunately, there are still no details regarding the price of the Redmi 10X 5G and 10X Pro 5G. That will probably be revealed on May 26 or a few hours before through a leak, so stay tuned.
