Redmi will reveal a new TWS headset, Power Bank and IoT products in India on May 26

Redmi

Xiaomi has pretty much established a solid presence in the Indian stronghold. Among the main reason, we have a solid smartphone division with a plethora of successful devices being sold in the country at affordable price tags. Although the company owns the crown of the smartphone market in India, this isn’t enough, especially for the company’s sub-brand Redmi. The company wants more, and in order to further establish its presence in the Indian realm, the Chinese firm will unveil new Redmi products for several segments including IoT gadgets, power banks, and TWS headsets. This seems to be a direct response to Realme’s growing interest in becoming more than just a smartphone seller in India, but a lifestyle company. With this in mind, Redmi scheduled a #NoStringsAttached event for India. It will happen at 12pm on May 26 and will reveal the aforementioned devices.

Gizchina News of the week

New Redmi TWS headset

Xiaomi lança Redmi AirDots S, sua nova geração de fones sem fio ...

According to rumors, the new TWS headset will be the Redmi AirDots S as they check all the boxes on the teaser page. Among the features the hearables have long battery life with up to 12 hours with the charging case. Moreover, they also feature a low-latency Bluetooth connection and are sweat-proof. Last but not least, they can also summon a digital assistant. The AirDots S was unveiled in China during the last month and are as cheap as CNY 99. That would be converted into INR 1,050 and that’s a pretty competitive price for this segment.

New Power Bank

When it comes to the new Power bank, it still is hard to say, but perhaps Redmi will introduce new sizes to join the already announced 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh Redmi power banks.  Besides the size, the company could also introduce new features on these power banks like wireless charging. But that probably would affect the final price.

Xiaomi Redmi Router AC2100 Cupom

Last but not least, we have the IoT (internet of things) segment. In China, Redmi already has a plethora of products ranging from routers to smart home integration hubs and smart screens. Unfortunately, it’s hard to indicate which are the products making way to India. But we would be in one of the brand’s routers and smart home products. The company could even partner with Amazon for integrating Alexa in these products. Redmi already partnered with Amazon in the past which allowed the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Indian variant) to include Alexa voice-assistant straight out of the box.

We still have one week of waiting before the event. Until then, more details might be revealed by the company.
