Redmi 10X is coming with the same AMOLED display as the Mi 10 Youth

Redmi 10X

In the next few hours, Xiaomi’s Redmi will be holding an online event in China where it will reveal the Redmi 10X, 10X 5G, and 10X Pro 5G. While the first device is a rebranding of the global Note 9, the other two are completely new devices featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 820 SoC and AMOLED panels. According to a recent report from the so-called Digital Chat Station Weibo leakster, the phone will be using the same Samsung E2 AMOLED panel as the Mi 10 Youth 5G.

This panel will have a 6.57-inch diagonal with FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). Moreover, it’s not coming with any fancy solution like a punch-hole for the selfie camera. Instead, we have the good and old waterdrop notch housing the selfie snapper. Other key aspects of this display include HDR10+ support and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. It’s a great display, especially if the device comes at an affordable price tag as rumor suggests.

Gizchina News of the week

Thanks to the use of an AMOLED display, Redmi confirmed the presence of AlwaysOnDisplay mode which has a wide array of customizations in MIUI 12. The device will also come with the recently released Super Wallpaper feature. Moreover, the nature of this display allows the company to fit an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Other specs include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Storage and Dual-SIM with Dual 5G support. The dual-SIM tray is of the hybrid kind, allowing the user to choose between dual-SIM functionality or single SIM + microSD card for memory expansion. The smartphone will ship with a Quad-Camera array which reportedly includes OIS and 30x zoom.

As we said before, the smartphone will be the first in the industry to sport a MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC. Apart from its 5G capabilities, the chipset offers a lot of performance breaking the 400,000+ barrier in AnTuTu.
