Vivo X50 to tipped to launch in India

Vivo has kept its X series of smartphones exclusive to China in recent times. However, it’s all about to change now as a recent tip has pointed out that the X50 series of smartphones, which is set to launch in China on June 1st, will eventually make its way to the Global market, especially in India.

As per TechRadar India,  sources close to the matter have confirmed that the Vivo X50 is coming to India soon. This will mark the entry of X series inside the country after two years. As of now, nothing is clear about the variant that will be launching here. But, the tip points out that the higher variant X50 pro could cut its way through to the country.

Vivo X50 Pro Plus?

Vivo has various models in the mid-premium segment in China. Among the lot, the X series of Smartphones is generally known to attract Gen Z consumers with premium design, good cameras. The Vivo X50 series is all around the place as the smartphone has been hitting the rumour mill frequently. The latest leak points towards the inclusion of a 50MP GN1 sensor on a higher Pro Plus variant.

Expected Specifications

The series, which is aimed at the premium mid-range segment, is expected to come in three models. All of them will have a 6.56-inch 2376x1080p display with HDR10+ support. The budget variant will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G SoC. While the highest Pro Plus model is expected to sport a Snapdragon 865 on board.

Cameras are also slightly different in these models with the X50 and the X50 Pro using a 48MP Sony IMX 598 sensor as the primary shooter. The X50 Pro, on the other hand, uses a newer 50MP from Samsung.

Other shooters are fairly similar with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 13MP shorter and an 8MP periscopic longer telephoto lens. The Pro variants will have support for 60X zoom. Vivo also claims that Primary Camera will have industry-leading stabilization with support for up to 3-degree compensation on either of the axes.

Apart from Cameras, the Vivo X50 series also boasts a bigger 4215mAh on the X50 while the Pro variants will have slightly higher 4315mAh. There is support for 33W and 44W fast charging X50 and the Pro variants respectively.

All of the devices will be 5G capable and will come in 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. While we don’t know which device will trickle down to the country, we can be sure that Vivo is eyeing for a place in the happening midrange segment.
