Redmi 8 was released back in October 2019, and it’s been a while since Redmi updated their budget lineup. Now, multiple leaked images and specifications of the successor to Redmi 8 are surfacing online. To recall, there are mostly 3 smartphones for the budget lineup including a vanilla model, a pro model, and the cheapest model which mostly comes with “A” in its name. This time around, these budget lineup will be consisting of Redmi 9, Redmi 9A & Redmi 9C. Thanks to a popular leakster on Twitter, we have specifications of all the 3 smartphones.
Redmi 9A Specifications:
The Redmi 9A will be the cheapest one out of the other three. The Redmi 9A will boast a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720p. A new chipset that we have never heard of will be powering the device. Known as MediaTek Helio G25, the SoC features Mali-G31 GPU. We don’t know how the chipset will perform as of now, but being a G-series MediaTek processor we can hope for a decent chipset with improved graphics power. Moving to the camera department, The Redmi 9A will be boasting a 13-megapixel single rear camera while a 5-megapixel is present on the front for selfies.
One of the best parts of Redmi 9A is a huge 5000mAH battery, and you know what the best part is? This budget smartphone will be charged via a USB-Type C port. This is actually a very nice step-up from Xiaomi! Talking about the internals, we will have 3GB RAM & 32GB of internal storage. Whereas, you will be able to increase the storage via MicroSD with up to 512GB. Fingerprint scanner, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Light & Proximity sensors are present in this budget beast. Whereas, you can enjoy your media using 3.5mm headphone and control it via the infrared blaster.
Redmi 9C Specifications:
The 9C is a new edition on the budget lineup, and the difference between Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A isn’t too much. It also features the same 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720p. A new Helio G25 chipset will be powering the Redmi 9C coupled with 3GB RAM & 64GB internal storage. Now coming to the only notable difference between Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A except higher storage is the camera setup. The Redmi 9C features a dual-camera setup led by a 13-megapixel sensor with an additional 2-megapixel. While there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
There is a 5000mAH battery that will be charged via USB Type-C port. Like on the younger brother, the 9C also features a Fingerprint scanner, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Light & Proximity sensors. Finally, a 3.5mm headphone and IR blaster are also present on the Xiaomi Redmi 9C.
Redmi 9 Specifications:
Now comes the godfather of the budget lineup, the Xiaomi Redmi 9. The Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inches FHD+ display, this a big jump over 720p display on the previous generations. The Xiaomi Redmi 9 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary, and additional 8-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 2-megapixel sensors. There is a 5-megapixel shooter on the front side.
Coming to internals, there is MediaTek Helio G70 powering the chipset with 4GB RAM & 64GB internal storage. There is a 5000mAH battery that will be charged via USB Type-C.
