Android 11 has a completely new power menu

XDA Developers editor Mishal Rahman, citing developer Till Cottmann, has published a screenshot of the power menu, which will significantly transform with the release of Android 11.

Instead of a pop-up window on the side of the screen, where shortcuts are placed to turn off and restart the smartphone, as well as take a screenshot and call emergency services, the menu will occupy the entire screen. In its upper third there are already familiar buttons with the listed shortcuts, but located horizontally. Below, we have the list of credit cards added to Google Pay.

By holding the power button of the smartphone, the owner can quickly switch the bank card for contactless payment. Even lower, we have the “Quick Control” section for working with smart home devices. You can quickly turn on the light in the desired room from your smartphone or adjust the temperature of your bedroom. This feature is likely related to the Google Home app.

The fact that the power menu in Android 11 is noticeably transformed became known in March. Google several times changed the design of the section in the process of developing the next version of the OS. The release of the final version of Android 11 should be in the third quarter of this year.

The nation-wide spread of protests is due to the death of an African-American in a questionable way as he was being restrained by Police in Minneapolis. Google hasn’t actually mentioned the reason for its decision in the tweet. But, it is understandable that Google doesn’t see this time as the best moment.

Earlier, Google had to cancel its Google I/O that was scheduled to happen last month due to the outbreak of the virus. Earlier, various reports claimed that the launch of the upcoming Google Pixel 4A smartphone is also delayed for July. Latest developments regarding the product reveal that it could come without the Edge detection. It should also be cheaper than the new iPhone SE.
