The VIVO Nex 3S 5G handset has been launched three months ago. But this doesn’t mean the company will stop making new 5G-enabled top-end models. VIVO has always been at the roots of 5G. And it is one of those rare companies that has been put a lot of effort into the research and development of 5G phones in the past. Well, the next-gen VIVO 5G phone under this brand has appeared on GeekBench. And it turns out this new phone will sport the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. You should be aware of this chip because it’s the most powerful in the Android camp.
Usually, when a phone appears on GeekBench, there is no certain information that reveals the exact chip model. Of course, this is mainly true for unreleased models. This time, there is no official confirmation we are dealing with an SND865 chip. But the VIVO model with a code of V2024A is said to use a ‘Kona’ motherboard. In other words, the phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 865 SoC.
The document also shows that the machine has 8GB of memory and a pre-installed Android 10 operating system. In the Geekbench 5.1.1 test, the phone’s single-core test score was 912 points, and the multi-core test score was 3291 points.
Gizchina News of the week
As of now, VIVO has managed to launch 14 5G smartphones. Moreover, when this phone is out, it will be the fifth VIVO 5G smartphone based on the Snapdragon 865. Among them, we can mention the VIVO X50 Pro Plus, VIVO NEX 3S, iQOO Neo 3, and iQOO 3.
However, this handset could also be an iQOO model. As you know, iQOO belongs to VIVO and is an important part of the company’s dual-brand strategy. And we have to say, the manufacturer pays equal attention to both brands. But when it comes to the price policy, everything changes. Like the case of Xiaomi and Redmi, VIVO and iQOO smartphones are priced differently. Just, let’s take a quick look at the latest SND865-powered 5G smartphone of VIVO and its sub-brand. The price of the VIVO NEX 3S 8GB + 256GB version is 4998 yuan ($713), while the 12GB + 256GB variant comes at 5298 yuan ($756). And the iQOO Neo 3 6GB + 128GB costs 2698 yuan ($381), the 8GB + 128GB costs 2998 yuan ($423), the 12GB + 128GB is available at 3298 yuan ($466), and the 8GB + 256GB comes for 3398 yuan ($480). So it’s quite difficult to guess the starting price tag.
