HMD Global did a wonderful job so far with Nokia’s revival. However, if there is still a missing point on the company’s portfolio is a proper flagship device. However, this might finally change this year with the Nokia 9.3 PureView, a device that comes to address some of the mistakes made with the original Nokia PureView. The device is expected for Q3 2020 this year along with other smartphones such as the Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3. However, a new report states that the company will push back the launch of these handsets due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
New Nokia devices only in Q4 2020
According to sources that are very familiar with the matter, HMD is being forced to push back the release date of the phones to the beginning of the fourth quarter this year. Of course, it still depends on how long the supply chain disturbances caused by COVID-19 pandemics take to fix. It has been a long time since the company launched a smartphone. The latest and most relevant entry for Nokia’s portfolio was the Nokia 8.3. It came with 5G connectivity thanks to the use of the Snapdragon 765G. We can understand how the pandemic and disturbances in the supply chain are disturbing the company’s smartphone production. After all, HMD relies on ODMs in China to manufacture its smartphones. One of these companies is Foxconn which also produces for several other smartphone brands.
