Back in March 2019, Samsung introduced its new wireless audio product namely Galaxy Buds to the consumer. Earlier this year, we saw the Plus variant of the original product with improved internals. Just like with other wearables, Samsung keeps on rolling out firmware updates every now and then to enhance the experience.
Well, the chaebol has now started rolling out yet another firmware update to both the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+ audio products. Here is everything you need to know about the new update rollout.
Galaxy Buds, Buds+ New Firmware Update
The new firmware rollout brings the firmware version R17xXXU0ATF2. It is worth noting that both Galaxy Buds and Buds+ comes with identical firmware version along with the identical changelog. For the original Buds, the update weighs around 1.40MB while for the Plus variant, it is 1.32MB. As you can see from the images, the changelog only mentions “implements stability code for device security“.
Gizchina News of the week
Even though the changelog mentions device security, the update also brings a new menu and action that allows you to manage and block connections with known and unknown devices. Apart from this, there is nothing new with this latest update.
If you own any of the two product, then you should already receive the update notification on your paired Galaxy device. If not, then you can go ahead and do so manually via Galaxy Wearable application. As expected, this update is slowly expanding to more countries and regions. This means that even if you did not receive any notification, you should get one in the next coming days.
To recall, Samsung previously rolled out a major update to the original Galaxy Buds bringing some Buds+ features. At the same time, the update on Buds+ improved the Ambient Sound feature.
Other Samsung Updates
Apart from the Buds lineup, Samsung has also rolled out its latest One UI 2.1 software to the Galaxy Note 10 Lite in India. Furthermore, the older flagship Note 9 has also received the One UI 2.1 update in Germany. This means that the update should hit more regions in the coming weeks. For the S9/S9+ users, the new One UI 2.1 update should arrive next week hopefully. It is also worth noting that several reports are pointing towards a possible next iteration of Galaxy Buds reveal next month.
