Redmi K40 to use a Dimensity 1000+ SoC?

According to speculations, this smartphone will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor. This is MediaTek’s flagship 5G SoC which hit the road some months ago.

The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ adopts Cortex A77 architecture. This is the world’s first integrated 5G flagship SoC using Cortex A77. According to the official introduction, the Dimensity 1000+ SoC uses the world’s leading 5G technology and supports SA and NSA dual-mode 5G networking. The company claims that this is the only chip in the industry that supports 5G+5G dual card dual standby. It also supports 5G dual-carrier aggregation technology. This brings users a more rapid and stable network speed experience.

Back to the alleged Redmi K40, in addition to the Dimensity 1000+ SoC, this smartphone may also use a high refresh rate display. The previous generation Redmi K30 uses a 120Hz LCD screen. If this smartphone is the Redmi K40, it may use a 144Hz LCD high refresh rate screen. However, this is only a speculation and there is nothing concrete.

At present, MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ has been mass-produced and commercialized. The first smartphone to use this chip is the iQOO Z1. At the Chinese 618 sales, this device hit the shelves for 1998 yuan ($282). The less than $300 price tag seems very right for the Redmi K40 series which should sell for around 2000 yuan. This device is worth looking forward to.
