Honor is gearing up for the launch of its Honor 9A smartphone globally. The entry-level device which debuted in China and Russia a few months back, is finally heading to global markets. The company’s First WiFi 6+ router is also expected to tag along on July 23rd.
Honor has scheduled an event on YouTube for July 23rd at 2:00 PM CET for the Honor 9A. While this is understandable considering the pandemic, Honor has also said that it will launch ecosystem products along with the Honor 9A as a part of “VIP Day launch event”.
However, the centre stage will be captured by the entry-level Honor 9A. Thanks to earlier launches we know the specifications of the device. It features an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels and a waterdrop notch.

A physical fingerprint sensor, an LED flashlight and Honor branding also accompany the camera housing at the back. All of this is backed up by a huge 5,000mAh battery. It also has a micro USB port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Connectivity options include Dual SIM 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS and an in-built FM Radio. The device will run on Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10 out of the box. However, it will skip Google Mobile Services (GMS) due to the US ban.
Router 3: Analogous to Huawei’s AX3 series
Additionally, as stated the company will reveal ecosystem products and the Honor 3 WiFi 6 router is expected to be one of them. This router, launched on May 18th in China, has Huawei’s own Lingxiao Dual-Core processor with 128MB of RAM.
There are four antennas on the rear of the router. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz mode with a maximum link speed of up to 3967Mbps. It runs on the RTOS by Huawei similar to its AX3 routers.
Expected Price
The Honor 9A has a single 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Both the 9A and Router 3 are retailing at around €140 and €30 in China. Let’s wait for official info on June 23rd to know global pricing.
