A couple days back we reported about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus getting spotted on the notorious benchmark platform – Geekbench. The tablet appeared to come to with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865; along with 6GB of RAM. Well, today, it was the turn of its “little” brother, the vanilla Samsung Galaxy Tab S7.
The upcoming tablet has indeed been spotted on Geekbench as well. The device shows up with the model name “SM-T870”, which is slightly different from the “SM-T976B” we saw adopted from the Plus variant. That said, specs and performance appear to be exactly the same.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Spotted on Geekbench, It’s as Powerful as the Plus Variant
According to the benchmark, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus is, in fact, also coming with the latest and most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 as CPU; paired with 6GB of RAM. Score wise, the tablet obtained 4509 points in single core mode and 12945 in multi core mode. So, somewhat more powerful in single core while scoring less in multi core. Though we can safely assume these are just “rounding” errors and we won’t be seeing any performance difference in real life use scenarios.
Gizchina News of the week
Along with the top of the game CPU, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus by Samsung should also feature a medium-size (for a tablet) 11-inch screen. This display will then sport a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz according to a previous leak. The higher refresh rate should make the tablet a really good alternative to the quite successful Apple iPad Pro with its 120Hz display.
Users are indeed getting used to the more dynamic and smooth user experience provided by the higher refresh rate. To that we can add Samsung’s unique S-Pen which could also benefit from the aforementioned technology during digital drawing or 2D animations carried out on the various editing and photo retouching software.
On the negative side, having a high refresh rate could badly affect battery life. So, Samsung is reported to equip their devices with larger than usual batteries. Although that might be only true for the Plus variant which is expected to pack a 10090 mAh juice pack. Meanwhile the smaller Galaxy Tab S7 is apparently getting only a 7760mAh capacity battery.
Either way, other feature on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 should include 5G support with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem; a full metal body and Android 10 as the OS out of the box.
