The first MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ smartphone is the iQOO Z1. But the Taiwanese chip maker will overcome the shortage problem soon and we will see more smartphones powered by this flagship SoC. And it seems that Redmi will be the next brand to come in with such a handset. Yesterday, a Weibo blogger announced that there will be a new Xiaomi phone sporting this chip. And most likely, it will come our way from Redmi.
MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ Features
As a new generation flagship 5G chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ supports SA and NSA dual-mode 5G networking and is the only chip in the industry equipped with 5G + 5G dual-card dual standby and 5G dual-carrier aggregation technology. It brings users a faster and more stable network speed experience. The chip is also optimized through power-saving technology to achieve the world’s lowest 5G power consumption and longer battery life.
The data shows that the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is built on the 7nm process. It uses the ARM flagship Cortex A77 + Mali-G77 architecture design. Also, the chip has eight cores at a CPU frequency of up to 2.6GHz. It integrates APU 3.0, which brings a powerful AI experience. As a result, the chip scored over 530,000 points in AnTuTu.

Is It The Redmi K40?
Apart from the news we talked about above, a new model with a model number Xiaomi Mi M2006J10C has obtained 3C certification. From the official documents, we can see it supports 33W fast charging (11V/3A). Interestingly, it comes with the same charger as the Redmi K30 Pro.
From the charger specifications, this phone should be Redmi’s high-end product. The former Redmi product director Wang Teng hinted that Redmi would use MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. Thus, he speculated that the new model of Xiaomi M2006J10C might be a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ terminal. So, as for now, there is every reason to think the next smartphone with this chip will be the Redmi K40.
In this regard, we have heard the Redmi MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ new machine will use a single-hole LCD full-screen. It is expected to use a side fingerprint solution, and the refresh rate may be 144Hz.
But if these rumors are not 100% accurate, a high refresh rate screen smartphone and/or a Dimensity 1000+/ Snapdragon 865 handset may come our way from Xiaomi and not Redmi. We mean Xiaomi is preparing the Mi MIX 4 to release this summer. It will come with a 120K punch-hole display with 2K resolution. So there is a possibility the Mi MIX 4 will feature one of the mentioned specs. But it’s not excluded that Redmi wouldn’t re-release the same smartphone under a different name.
