OnePlus seems to have quietly opened a pre-booking for the extended warranty of the upcoming OnePlus TV series on Amazon India. The validity extension which is powered by insurance company Acko, is basically giving users a free warranty of up to 2 years for the TV series.

The new offer listed on the e-commerce site, will basically give a free warranty to users by paying Rs.1000 initially. However, this doesn’t seem to guarantee a unit for the users. It looks like a token of gratitude for early adopters of the TV.

How to avail the offer?

The listing says users will get free insurance for the new OnePlus TV series effectively, if they purchase the TV before August 5th, 2020. Users will have to pay Rs.1000 and book the extended warranty between June 23rd and July 2nd which is when the product is said to launch. Follow the steps below to avail the scheme effectively for free of cost.

Gizchina News of the week

  1. Login to your Amazon account. Purchase the Pre-booking offer of the OnePlus TV by paying Rs.1000 before July 2nd which is otherwise worth Rs.3,000.
  2. Post this, a confirmation email will be sent to users within 2 hours. Acko says that a physical copy of the plan details will not be sent to users via post. Users can also access the details under the message centre of the Amazon account.
  3. After this, you can purchase the new TV series from whenever they go on sale before August 5th, 2020.
  4. Accordingly, on completion of purchase, users will receive a credit of Rs.1000 on their Pay Balance account as a token of gratitude.

This effectively makes the warranty free of cost for the early adopters. Acko says the insurance is valid from the end of manufacturer/brand warranty till end of 3rd year from the TV purchase date and will cover electrical and mechanical failures under the original manufacturer’s warranty.

However, faults due to wear and tear, accessories are not covered under this scheme. With offers like this, OnePlus is definitely targeting the budget consumers towards it.
