According to several reports, Samsung is gearing up to launch the most powerful smartphone in the M-series dubbed Galaxy M51. The device is gearing up to be a very capable smartphone, and according to rumors, it was made after the unreleased Galaxy M41. According to a new report, fans of the smartphone lineup in India will have to wait until September to see what the Galaxy M51 is about. This report supposedly is based on info from industry sources. The launch in the subcontinent has been delayed to September because of production issues at the company’s factories.
Although one can think that the Galaxy M51 will surface elsewhere before September, we do not see this happening. After all, Samsung has pretty much built a solid stronghold in India for the M-series. Some smartphones even remain exclusive for the Indian market, while others launch there first. Moreover, we don’t know, but Samsung’s problems in the factories might not be just related to India.
Galaxy M51 key specifications
According to a recently spotted GeekBench listing, the handset will sport an Octa-Core Snapdragon 675 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. Storage-wise the device will have 128GB and, obviously, offers support for microSD cards. The Android version is Android 10, but this isn’t a big surprise.
Gizchina News of the week
Rumors indicate that the handset will pack a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen with a top-left aligned punch hole for the selfie shooter. Sources suggest an under-glass fingerprint scanner, however, the device’s alleged render reveals a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device is complete with an advanced triple rear camera setup. Apparently, the device will sport Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 with 64MP as the main camera. It is also said to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack. The battery capacity still remains a mystery, but we expect it to be huge. A 5,000mAh battery would be ideal to compete with the likes of the Redmi Note 9 series.
According to rumors, the Galaxy M51 basically is a revived Galaxy M41. Samsung decided to finish its plans for the Galaxy M41 development as its AMOLED display from CSOT couldn’t reach the company’s standards. Despite canceling the Galaxy M41, the company decided to use remnants of the project to develop the Galaxy M51. This time around, the handset will feature an AMOLED display from Samsung.
We still don’t have any clue regarding the price of the Galaxy M51, but we expect it to be below the $300 price range.
