OnePlus announced a few weeks ago that it is aiming at a big expansion over its product portfolio. This will include the arrival of new affordable smartphones as well as other smart products including smart TVs, wearables, and so-called hearables. According to reports, the Chinese company is preparing the new OnePlus Nord (OnePlus Z / OnePlus 8 Lite) for the next month, and besides the handset, the company will announce its first TWS earbuds. According to a new leak, the earbuds will be dubbed OnePlus Buds and will come in black.

The new leaked image does not only reveal the color but also gives us a good glimpse of the design. Rather than an open-fit design as seen in a previous leak, the image above shows a closer-fit design which should, at least on paper, provide a better seal and sound. Unfortunately, everything we have about the OnePlus TWS hearables is based on certification documents or leaked images. The company itself is yet to release an official teaser related to the earbuds.

Apart from the design, no much is known about the OnePlus Buds specifications. We expect it to have USB-C charging and offer support for voice assistants with a huge integration with the company’s OxygenOS 10.
The OnePlus Buds may go official alongside the OnePlus Nord
OnePlus will hold a press conference on July 2 when it will launch an affordable new TV series in India. This still needs confirmation, but we wouldn’t discard the announcement of the OnePlus Nord and OnePlus Buds on the very same date. The OnePlus Nord will mark a new era for the OnePlus smartphone business. After leaving the range of affordable devices, the company’s flagship lineup has become a premium lineup of devices. The company wants to rescue its flagship-killer appeal with a new powerful mid-range phone.
The OnePlus Nord will flaunt a 6.4-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The handset will draw its power from a 4,000mAh battery with OnePlus Fast charging technology. The main camera should be a 64MP unit while recent rumors are pointing to two selfie snappers with 32MP and 8MP respectively. Under the hood, the handset will boast the Snapdragon 765G and should have at least 6GB of RAM.
While the exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, the new smartphone is undoubtedly coming in July. It will reach the Indian and European markets. China might receive it as well as it’s one of the biggest 5G markets in the world.
