With the official launch timeline inching closer, we are now hearing even more about the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch. After numerous leak renders, we finally have more information on the software front. It is already known that the wearable will arrive with a new Tizen OS. Thanks to a new leak, we now know what we can expect from the new software version.
Galaxy Watch 3 more software information is finally here!
According to a notable tipster Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach), we will see a plethora of new software related features with the upcoming smartwatch. First up, we’re looking at the additions of new watch faces. Furthermore, the watch faces will now be much more customizable thanks to ‘Informative Digital Edge’. This new feature will allow the user to add some custom information to watch faces. We’re talking about information such as date, day, heart rate, steps, weather and much more.
With the new Tizen OS, Samsung is looking to bring richer notification icons and some built-in apps. This means that we will now see built-in Outlook and Spotify in some markets. If that’s the case, then Outlook will replace the already available Samsung Email. This makes sense considering the growing cooperation between Samsung and Microsoft.

Apart from all these, the weather app will see some changes. These changes include the addition of a matching background to display weather conditions. For instance, if it’s raining, the weather app will display raindrops in the background. Users will now finally see the weekly view inside the Calendar app. For the South Korean market, the watch will now have Samsung Health Monitor pre-installed.
The software information further reveals that the available space is going to be 5.3GB out-of-the-box falling in line with the 8GB internal storage. Sadly, even the next-gen smartwatch does not feature MST meaning Samsung Pay will not be available in some countries.
Specs, Launch, Availability
According to the tipster, the smartwatch should launch as soon as July 8. On the contrary, the recent report mentions July 22 as the official launch of the wearable. To recall, the Galaxy Watch 3 will arrive with 1.2-inch (or 1.4-inch) screen depending on the variant (i.e, 41mm or 45mm). The display will have a layer of Gorilla Glass DX for an added protection. The wearable will come with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, heart-rate monitor, ECG, sleep tracking, blood pressure monitoring, and activity tracking.
