We’ve been hearing about a third OnePlus smartphone since the first days of this year. The device will mark the company’s return to the mid-range segment, offering compelling specs and 5G connectivity. Previously, the device was known simply as OnePlus 8 Lite, but then, people started to call it OnePlus Z. Recently, OnePlus finally confirmed the name of this device as OnePlus Nord, and since then, the company seems to be building a good amount of hype for a possible launch in July. Now, we’re about to start a new chapter on this crazy story.
OnePlus revealed through official @onepluslitezthing Instagram account that 100 units of the Nord will be available for pre-order tomorrow. This is a very curious case. After all, we don’t have an official launch date for smartphones making this a blind order for most customers. Rumors have it that the handset will be revealed in the next month. Meanwhile, OnePlus will be holding an event in India in just two days from now where a new series of affordable TVs will be revealed. The company also has a pair of new TWS earbuds to announce.

OnePlus Nord specifications
The company could use the same event to reveal all of these devices. But that probably will not happen. As aforementioned, the company is building up hype for its mid-range smartphone. For that reason, the device probably will have a separate event and will not share its light with any other OnePlus device.
Unfortunately, there’s still no word from the Instagram page on which regions will be eligible for the pre-order. However, we already know that the OnePlus Nord will be reaching Europe and India which narrows the choices a little bit. We also expect it to come for the Chinese market, after all, it’s one of the biggest markets for 5G smartphones. There’s no point for the company to ignore its domestic market.
The OnePlus Nord will boast the excellent Snapdragon 765G chipset and we’re expecting at least 6GB of RAM and up to 12GB of RAM. Despite previous renders pointing a triple-camera setup, the device will be carrying a Quad-Camera array with a 64MP primary shooter. Moreover, the device will have a dual punch-hole design with a 32MP primary camera and 8MP ultrawide snappers. The Nord will also ship with a 4,000mAh battery and pack 30W Warp Charge. The display will be an AMOLED one with a high-refresh-rate and under-display fingerprint scanner. According to reports, the device will cost less than $500, which doesn’t say much about its price.
