Recently, there were reports that Huawei placed a huge order with Visionox for its OLED display panel. According to the reports, Huawei’s order for Visionox display is to the tune of 2.5 billion yuan ($350 million). However, an official of Visionox said that if there is any such order, the company will make it public at the right time.
Visionox OLED products have entered the supply chain of many first-line brand customers. These orders are coming from within and outside China. Visionox said, “In batch delivery when the cooperation with a single customer is still at the initial stages, there can be no public announcement”.
Furthermore, because the cooperation with customers requires confidentiality, there can be no official response to the rumor. Well, the Visionox official did not deny the rumors, he only declined to comment on it. This means that there could be some sort of truth in this.
Chinese OLED panel makers have been playing catch up to South Korean manufacturers like Samsung and LG. For now, Samsung is still many years ahead of Chinese manufacturers. However, we all know what happened with the LCD panel market. The Chinese took over the market which forced the Koreans to quit making LCD panels. Chinese OLED panel makers like BOE and Visionox are constantly growing.
