Taiwanese chip manufacturer MediaTek revised its forecast of 5G chip shipments in 2020 in February this year, adjusting its expected shipments to 200 million. Since then, we have seen the company released up to five 5G phones. But it is not going to stop here. It turns out there will be a MediaTek low-end 5G chip coming quite soon.
DigiTimes’ latest report further clarified the chip manufacturer’s strategy. The report stated that MediaTek plans to launch a new 5G mobile chip series that will be deployed on entry-level smartphones. According to the source citing industry sources, the debut of this chip will come in late July. But we will start getting relevant news soon.
The introduction of the new series, especially the introduction of entry-level chips, will increase the shipment of MediaTek’s mobile chips. The company’s 5G chipset already includes the Dimensity 1000, Dimensity 1000L, Dimensity 1000+, Dimensity 800, and Dimensity 820. It is expected that the company will also launch the mid-range Dimensity 600 series. According to reports, the series has already received large orders even before its launch.

Is this MediaTek low-end 5G chip the Dimensity 600?
