Galaxy Z Fold 2 teased in a new Galaxy Unpacked video

Galaxy Z Fold 2

A couple of days ago, a report emerged stating that the Galaxy Z Fold 2, previously known as Galaxy Fold 2, would not be released on August 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. A few days afterward, Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants revealed that his sources informed him that the Fold 2, in fact, will still launch on August 5. However, it won’t be ready for shipments until October this year. Now, Samsung has just released a new teaser for its August 5 Galaxy Unpacked event. And guess what this teaser is about? It teases the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The 12 seconds video is pretty similar to the original teaser announced earlier this month. However, the bronze-colored droplet transforms into a butterfly-like object. The wallpaper of the original Galaxy Fold is a butterfly, so we can conclude that the new video is a clear allusion to the original Galaxy Fold’s successor. This year, it will be called Galaxy Z Fold 2. Perhaps, Samsung wants to bring it close to the successful flip-folding phone the Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 specifications

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 2 flaunts a 7.59-inch foldable AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and 2213 x 1689 resolution. The outer display is a 6.23-inch panel. Under the hood, the smartphone will pack the overclocked Snapdragon 865 Plus featuring a 3.09GHz clock. Moreover, the phone will have up to 12GB of RAM And 512GB Storage. We don’t think it will be cheaper, but at least, the specifications are on par with what you expect from an expensive phone. The handset is said to have a 64MP triple-camera setup and a 4,365mAh battery. We have to say, this battery capacity is amazing for a foldable smartphone.

Besides the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung will also introduce new smartphones under the Galaxy Note 20 Series. Instead of three smartphones, reports indicate that we’ll have just two smartphones this time in the form of a vanilla Galaxy Note 20 and a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The Ultra variant is the one to look what with a 108MP Penta-Camera setup. According to rumors, this time around, all the issues with Auto-Focus are fixed. Apart from Note 20 smartphones, the company will also unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. This is an incremental upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip released earlier this year. Among the upgrades, we’re expecting a Snapdragon 865 complete with the external 5G modem and a new brown color option. Last but not least, the company might introduce new earbuds dubbed Galaxy Buds live.
