The Honor 9X Lite and Honor 20e are now available in the United Kingdom through to several retailers. The Honor 9X reached Finland and interestingly enough, it comes with Google Play Services. However, there is a cost for this. Unfortunately, the phone ships with the rather old Kirin 710 SoC. Its performance is far from the ideal in 2020, especially if we compare it with the modern Kirin 820 SoC that even brings 5G connectivity. However, it’s the only mid-range chip from Huawei that can ship Google Play Services. While Huawei is doing everything it can to make its Huawei Mobile Services sustainable, Google Play Services (GMS) still are a better choice for devices in Europe.
Honor 9X Lite specifications
The Honor 9X Lite is available for £200 and comes in the Emerald Green and Moonlight Black color options. The Honor 9X Lite flaunts a 6.5-inch display with FHD+ resolution. Under the hood, the handset boasts the aforementioned Kirin 710F Octa-Core chipset with 4x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 cores plus 4x 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores. The phone is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of Storage.

You can expand this storage even further with a microSD card. The phone has a dual-camera setup with a 48MP main unit and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie snapper. The handset has a 3,750mAh battery limited with micro USB 10W charging.
Honor 20e specifications
The other device is the Honor 20e, also known as Honor 20 Lite. This handset came to Italy first and is now in the United Kingdom as well. If you’re willing to pay its £160 asking price. The phone flaunts a 6.21-inch display with FHD+ resolution and under the hood, we have the Kirin 710 SoC, which also means Google Play Services. In addition to the size difference, the phone also has a different camera setup. There is a main 24MP sensor with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. A selfie shooter is an 8MP unit. The handset also has 4GB of RAM, but storage is capped at 64GB. It’s expandable via a hybrid microSD slot. The color options are Phantom Blue and Midnight Black. The phone has a 3,400mAh battery which is also capped at 10W charging.
While these handsets are good, we don’t think that they’re on par with other offers in the segment that have been released this year. The handsets are available via HiHonor store and other major retailers like Amazon UK.
