Realme 6i will land in India on July 24, It’s a rebranded Realme 6S

Realme is one of the most important smartphone brands nowadays. After two years of existence, the company is pretty much aware of all strategies for conquering the user’s preference and for launching smartphones in distinct markets. Unfortunately, this knowledge also includes some controversial choices, like launching a smartphone under different monikers in different countries. This is something that Realme’s major rival, Xiaomi owns the crown. Now, Realme is preparing to launch a known smartphone, the Realme 6S under a different moniker in India. The company’s biggest stronghold will get a similar device with Realme 6i moniker.

Now you might wonder if this phone is the very same Realme 6i available in global markets. The answer is not, the Global Realme 6i is already available in India as Realme Narzo 10. We’re looking at the Realme 6, but Realme will recycle the name of 6i in India. After all, it’s better to save those new names for future smartphones right?

The Indian Realme 6i will hit the shelves on July 24, which is just four days from now. The company’s CEO in India, Madhav Sheth confirmed the good news and also revealed that the phone will boast the excellent MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. This chipset was released last year but still sits above any other offering in the Helio G-series. This particular chipset still offers better gaming performance than the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. Although, it’s not the most power-efficient due to its 12nm nature.

The Realme 6i will be a cheaper alternative to the Realme 6

The Realme 6i emerged a few days ago via Flipkart’s listing. However, the giant of e-commerce took the listing down. For that reason, it’s safe to assume that Realme decided to postpone the smartphone by ten days since the original listing was suggesting a July 14 launch. During the short life of the landing page, we could see that the phone’s price will be under INR 15,000 which is just around $200. Interestingly enough, the Realme 6 which also boasts the same chipset sells for INR 14,999. For that reason, it’s safe to assume that the Realme 6i will come as a cheaper alternative.

In Europe, Realme sells the Realme 6 for 199 Euros with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The very same smartphone is dubbed Realme Narzo in Indonesia and comes with twice this storage amount. However, the price is below the European version ~  €177. The new Indian version is likely coming with an INR 12,999 starting price for the lower variant with 4GB / 64GB. The other version with 128GB storage should hit India as well, but the price will be slightly above.
