Samsung will reveal the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Note 20 series, Galaxy Beans, and Galaxy Watch 3 on August 5. However, pricing for the two foldable smartphones has emerged two weeks before the official announcement.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G will go on pre-order this Wednesday. However, we’re assuming that this initial batch of pre-orders will be limited to South-Korea and, presumably, China. A new report from ETNews, it will cost the same as the original Galaxy Z Flip, which is KRW 1.65 million or $1,370. This is a good thing, after all, the new variant comes with a chipset that is far better than the Snapdragon 855+. The Snapdragon 865 Plus is not only better than the last year’s SoC but also better than the vanilla SD865 thanks to its 3.09 clock speed.
The new devices’ price will be similar to their predecessors
As far as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is concerned, the handset will also cost the same as the original model. That means, that we’re looking into another expensive foldable phone with a KRW 2.39 million or $1,990 price tag. Keep in mind that the revised Galaxy Fold 5G model was more expensive at $2,200. The handset even used the S855 which falls below the SD855+ and any chip of the SD865 family. Worth noting, that despite its announcement happening on August 5, the Z Fold 2 will only hit the shelves in October.
