After many months of rumors and leaks, even false or at least imprecise leaks, OnePlus finally released its highly-anticipated OnePlus Nord. The device is the first mid-range released by the company since the ill-fated OnePlus X. (I know, the X wasn’t a real mid-range, but it was an attempt). Now the company hopes to attract a solid user base for its mid-range killer and apparently it is going to be a hit in India. Despite its announcement, the handset is yet to hit the shelves, but anticipation only grows in the meantime.
The OnePlus Nord will make its big arrival in India. According to a new report, the handset has clinched the record of being the most-anticipated smartphone ever on Amazon India. Soon after the announcement of the handset, Amazon promptly published a “Notify Me” page. According to the available statistics show, the page has gotten over 4 million requests. It is the largest number that a mobile phone has recorded on Amazon India to the date.
The company opened pre-orders for the Nord as well as sale invitations to the AR event. Both were sold in just a few hours. The smartphone will be open for pre-booking on July 28 on Amazon India. Unfortunately, there still no word on when the first actual sale will take place.
Gizchina News of the week
OnePlus Nord specifications
The OnePlus Nord is a competitive smartphone flaunting a gorgeous 6.44-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Rather than a single selfie snapper, the smartphone boasts a pill-shaped cutout for two selfie snappers. The main camera is a 32MP unit optimized for night shots. There is another Ultra-Wide Angle camera and the company ensures that will ditch the obsolete selfie stick.
Under the hood, the phone boasts the excellent Snapdragon 765G SoC. It is paired with 6GB, 8GB, and even 12GB of RAM. Storage-wise, it is split between variants with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants. The storage is UFS 2.1, and since this is an OnePlus phone the microSD card slot is absent. The phone has a Quad-Camera setup led by a 48MP main shooter. While there is no telephoto/periscope module for super zoom capabilities, the phone ships with Optical Image Stabilization which is a plus on this price range. Other features include NFC, in-display fingerprint scanner, and dual SIM support. Lights are kept by a 4,115mAh battery and Android 10 is running below OxygenOS build.
The phone will be available in Blue Marble and Gray Onyx. We believe that more colors will come soon.
