Recently, strange rumors arrived regarding the future of bundled chargers in smartphone boxes. Following, EU’s recent discussion, some companies like Samsung and Apple are starting to play with the idea of launching new smartphones without the charging brick. The measure may reduce electronics waste, but, it’s not so satisfactory for customers. If companies will change to this scenario, only time will tell. As far as the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G is concerned, it’s charging brick will be safe.
According to earlier leaks, the Galaxy Note 20 lineup, composed by a vanilla Note 20 and an Ultra variant, will offer Samsung’s fast charging solution over the USB Power Delivery standard reaching 45W rate. However, a new report indicates that the company will keep its tradition with the Note 20 series. Instead of a more capable 45 rate, the phones will be bundled with slower 25 charging bricks.

The confirmation comes from the reliable leakster, Roland Quandt. According to him, both the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will settle get 25W chargers as apart of their retail packages. The difference may be just incremental as previous smartphones shipping with the 25W proved to have a more than capable charging. However, it’s bad to know that users will need to purchase a separate solution to get the max charging rate the phone supports.
