According to recent rumors, Nubia is preparing two distinct products for a release. The first is a new update for its gaming smartphone series dubbed Red Magic 5S. The second product is a new smartwatch, for now being called Nubia Watch. The teaser campaign for the former started a little earlier this month. The latter is being teased just now, but according to a new post, the company will reveal both products on July 28 next week. Besides the big reveal, the company also shared some key design features coming with the new watch.
The new watch will boast aluminum body and “soft” 316L stainless steel. According to teasers, the new wearable will pack a curved OLED panel, and apparently there is an Apple Watch-esque crown on the side. The wearable looks more like a smartband than a smartwatch. However, we will still consider it a smartwatch before an official appearance. Interestingly enough, Nubia is marketing the watch as more “economic”, which in the best-case scenario means “affordable”. However, it can also stand for “ecological” characteristics. More details should emerge soon enough as the device’s launch date comes near.

While the pricing point remains a mystery, we believe that the new wearable should cheaper than the Nubia Alpha.
The Red Magic 5S is the company’s answer to Lenovo and Asus
Qualcomm finally took the wraps off its improved Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset earlier this month and companies are starting to move towards the new chip. This month we saw the birth of new gaming phones like the Lenovo Legion. Asus released a new sequel for its Republic of Gamers segment. Both devices came with the upgraded chipset. Now it makes perfect sense for Nubia to unveil a new device with the newer chipset. According to several rumors, this will come in the form of Nubia Red Magic 5S. The new chipset is a great improvement, at least in clock speeds, since its big core can reach an amazing speed of 3.09GHz.
The device will pack the recently released SD855+ chipset. Moreover, it should retain the 144Hz display, the LPDDR5X RAM while the battery capacity should be improved. Last but not least, the company is teasing a new cooling technology featuring Silver that will be able to keep the Snapdragon 865+ operating with its maximum performance. It also brings the company’s trademarked actively cooling fan with a 15,000 rpm.
We will know all the remaining details on July 28.
