Nubia, along with Red Magic 5s surprised everyone with gaming TWS earbuds at the event.
Ni Fei, the President of Nubia, had teased the earbuds with low-latency mode earlier today. Priced at CNY299 ($42), the earbuds share a design language similar to the Red Magic smartphones with red accents, low-latency and longer battery life.
The company’s Red Magic division highlighted the features of the wireless wearable in a Weibo post. With the new TWS, it is venturing into a more robust design, with extremely low-latency mode. Coming in just the Black colour, the earbuds have a stem and an angled earpiece design similar to Apple’s Airpods Pro.
Red Magic TWS – Design
Nubia says the horn-shaped ear hooks help in better grip from falling off the ears. The earbuds have a triangular cut on the earpiece and a short stem that will probably host mic. The case, however, mimics the design language of a Red Magic product with diamond cut corners, three-lined LED strip at the centre.

The inside of the casing also has lights at the left and right ends. They glow in sync with the charging indicator at the centre. The company also says the buds will have one-key pairing and fast-pairing wherein the TWS will automatically connect as you open the charging case.
This makes it easier and you will never have to take the earbuds out to pair them with smartphones. Further, there is a (mandatory) Red Magic Logo at the back of the earpiece.
39ms low latency mode
The biggest highlight of all is the 39ms low latency mode that the earbuds will sport. The TWS industry is ramping up with unique products but faces latency issues in gaming. Nubia, known for gaming smartphones, seems to have justified the branding as the low-latency mode is one of its kind in the segment.
The company says the TWS earbuds will have extreme low-latency mode of 39ms when paired exclusively with Red Magic smartphones and a low-latency of up to 60ms when paired with others. This helps intense gaming sessions wirelessly without having to look for a pair of wired ones.
That’s not all, as the company promises a battery life of up to 20 hours on a single charge. All these make the earbuds one of the best affordable ones at CNY299 Yuan in China. Alongside the TWS, the event also witnessed the Red Magic 5s, deuterium neck-mounted neckband headset, WiFi-6 router and more.
