After a lot of rumours about an upgrade to the K30 Pro, a new Redmi device similar to the earlier one has hit the certification website in China. The model number matches the K30 lineup and this could be the Redmi K30 Ultra 5G and sport 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 1000+ SoC.
The TENAA listing in question has a device listed under the model number M2006J10C. There’s a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with no notches in the images listed. This shows that Xiaomi could retain the pop-up mechanism for the selfie shooter at the front to give a full-screen experience.
Dimensity to replace Snapdragon?
Measuring in at 163.3×75.4×9.1 mm the device could be a bit thicker which is due to a bigger battery and glass sandwich build. Also, the listing shows colours like Black, Blue, Green, Pink, White and Red are listed hinting at a variety of options.
The resolution listed is 2400×1080 pixels but there is no mention of higher refresh rates. However, earlier reports claim that the device will have a 120Hz refresh rate compared to the 60Hz on the K30 Pro.
Powering the Redmi K30 Ultra is a 2.6GHz Octa-core CPU as per the listing. The clock speed matches the Dimensity 1000+ SoC from Mediatek. Despite getting released a while ago, the device has not been utilized by OEMs apart from a few like iQOO Z1 5G.

Camera, battery and fast charging
As for the optics, there is a circular camera layout on the back like the K30 Pro. The sensors mentioned are a 64MP main shooter and an 8MP, while a sub sensor setup is 8MP and 20MP. While the selfie shooter is not explicitly mentioned clearly, the number of cameras on the device is mentioned as five which indicates the quad-camera on the back and a selfies shooter upfront.
The listing shows the device will have a typical value of 4,500mAh battery while the actual capacity rated is 4,400mAh in the listing. Earlier certifications of the device indicate that it could come with a 33W fast charging.
There are 6/8/12GB RAM and 128/256/512GB storage options and the device is running on Android 10 and being a Redmi device, we can expect MIUI 12 to come out-of-the-box.
The rumoured launch date is somewhere in August and as expected Xiaomi could market this as an affordable 5G device with flagship specifications. We await an official word from the company soon.
What about the new Qled display of BOE? I think that in this smartphone with pop-up cam this display would be interesting, though BOE didn’t mention the refresh rate.
