Motorola gained a lot of attention with the Motorola Razr despite the issues on the foldable display inside it. The next iteration, the Motorola Razr 2 5G, has been long rumoured now with improved display protection and 5G connectivity. And a latest live shot from China suggests that this could be the design of the next foldable Razr.
The images in question are from a Weibo post. On examining the images, we see the device doesn’t have any Motorola Logo on it. This leads us to believe that it could be a prototype model as well. It has a silver finish on the rear and sides of the device with chamfered edges. There’s still a lot hidden from the eye though. More specifically, the rear hinge isn’t quite visible really well. It’s likely that Motorola might have made some good changes there.
Motorola Razr 2 5G: Improved build and durability
There is a button to the left and the hinge mechanism on both sides gives us stainless steel vibes but we can only guess the supporting ridges to be stronger than the OG Razr. Looking closer, the display has a bath-tub styled wider notch with a selfie sensor tucked in and another image reveals the secondary screen and a single rear camera.
All these go in-line with the earlier leaked renders of Razr thanks to the ever-reliable Evan Blass. That said, this post on Weibo doesn’t show anything else apart from a few notifications on the display. Also, we see it running on the CMCC which is the China Mobile Communication Corporation carrier in China. However, the carrier signal shows 4G instead of the rumoured 5G.
