Note 20 will arrive with UWP technology – a high-speed alternative to NFC

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

The fact that Samsung Unpacked will take place on Wednesday, August 5th is well known to many tech fans. The event itself is held, first of all, to show the next generation of flagships with stylus support – the Galaxy Note 20 series. Everything is known about the new products. More precisely, almost everything. It remains to wait for the announcement of the price tags and, almost certainly, smartphones will offer a number of features, which the company will unveil at the release time.

Note 20 will arrive with UWP technology – a high-speed alternative to NFC

Among these features is UWP technology. For example, the provider of leaks with the nickname @SaudiAndroid on his Twitter page said that Samsung is preparing to present the UWP technology, which will become an alternative to traditional NFC. With its help, it will be possible to transfer files at high speed and the first owners will be smartphones of the Galaxy Note 20 family.

That’s all the source decided to tell. We will find out how the option will work at the presentation. Naturally, if the insider knows what he is talking about, and the UWP technology really makes its debut. Now there is a chance that users of the new flagships will get a curious content sharing tool.

There is a risk that Wi-Fi networks are used for its operation, but then it will be possible to share data only at home or at work, where all devices are connected to the same network. It will no longer be possible to transfer the file somewhere outside the networks. Therefore, we are waiting for the announcement in order to understand more how the UWP will become a universal and promising tool.

Galaxy Note 20 price

Samsung is currently gearing up for its upcoming much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event scheduled for August 5. Since the last couple of months, we’ve seen numerous leaks revealing design, specs, and much more about the lineup. To add the last piece of the puzzle, we now have the European pricing for the lineup. It looks like Galaxy Note 20 pricing might disappoint many after all.

  • Galaxy Note 20 LTE 256GB storage: EUR 999
  • Note 20 5G 256GB memory: EUR 1,099
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G 256GB: EUR 1,349
  • Note 20 Ultra 5G 512GB storage: EUR 1,449

The report comes courtesy of MySmartPrice in association with notable tipster Ishan Agarwal. Looking at the tipped pricing, interested buyers might have to pay a premium to enjoy the latest S-Pen phablets. As per the leaks, the regular Note 20 LTE will arrive with a EUR 999 (i.e. roughly $1,170) while the 5G variant will set you back EUR 1,099 (i.e. roughly $1,370).

Considering the device is rumored to feature plastic back and will miss out on many features, the $999 price tag is quite disappointing. For those who’re unaware, various report claims that the regular variant will act as the ‘Lite’ version instead of a true flagship device. Talking about the features, Note 20 will miss out on numerous things that would make it a premium device. We’re looking at 120Hz refresh rate display, latest Gorilla Glass protection, microSD expansion, and low-latency S-Pen.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, on the other hand, will come with a price tag of EUR 1,349. (i.e. roughly $1580) for the 5G variant. It’s the same as that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G launch price. It is worth noting that this is for the 512GB onboard memory. With that said, the Ultra variant is going to be less capable than the S20 Ultra in various areas. We’re talking about areas such as battery capacity and maximum zoom capabilities.
