HydrogenOS 11 is official – OnePlus 6 and above will get this update

Chinese manufacturer, OnePlus, has officially released the latest version of its HydrogenOS, HydrogenOS 11. This new system comes with a refreshing and inclusive design. It brings a couple of new features such as AOD, smart gallery, voice notes, new dark mode, and other features. According to the company, all OnePlus phone younger than OnePlus 6 will get this update.

Hydrogen OS 11

HydrogenOS 11 inclusive design

According to the company, the design of HydrogenOS 11 breaks down the barriers with inclusive design. On HydrogenOS 11, the design uses the simplest elements to create an output. This ensures that people of different races, cultures, and backgrounds can “understand” at a glance. For example, the new weather app comes with a new and common ew layout. The mobile wallpaper also fully echoes the design concept of HydrogenOS 11. It not only looks good but also echoes the changes in the sky and time through real-time rendering technology.

AOD (Always On Display)

The HydrogenOS 11 comes with features like AOD (Always On Display), smart gallery, and voice notes. AOD is a very popular feature for OnePlus users. The AOD of HydrogenOS 11 not only has the regular functions of displaying time, weather, notifications, and other information on the screen but also adds a series of special functions.

Smart Gallery

The smart gallery of HydrogenOS 11 integrates the picture editing function and adds a “week review” function. This feature uses AI algorithms to automatically edit the highlights of the video every weekend. It uses music and filters to generate a video of the user’s weekly memories. The new voice recording function in the notes can not only record instantly and accurately but also can switch between voice and text flexibly. It achieves this with the help of a high-recognition AI voice-to-text function.

Gizchina News of the week

HydrogenOS has always insisted on co-creating with users. Many new features on HydrogenOS 11 are also from OnePlus’ global users. This includes the multi-user zen mode and the new dark mode. The multi-user zen mode supports users to create virtual rooms and invite friends to complete multi-person meditation and clock-in sharing. The multi-user zen mode will support multi-brand smartphones.

After more than 130 attempts, the new dark mode now has a “black” that makes the vision more comfortable. It also uses different shades of black to show the level of content information. The dark mode also supports quick opening and timing activation, making the reading experience better.

ORM memory management system

Furthermore, Hydrogen OS 11 brings a brand new ORM memory management system. This greatly improves memory utilization efficiency and runs more applications simultaneously. According to OnePlus, the average background application before the upgrade of OnePlus 8 Pro (8 GB memory version) is 12.5. However, the average background application after the upgrade to Hydrogen OS 11 increases to 17.7, an increase of 41.6%. The new Turbo Booster 2.0 frame rate optimization technology aims at the high refresh rate screen of OnePlus. This allows the phone to better maintain the “full-frame rate” running state during gaming.
