Amazfit Smart Scale gets Bluetooth certification as the app gets support for scales

Huami is one of the most notable companies in the market of smart wearables. The company has a set of good products and is now gearing up to increase its offer even more. According to recent reports, Huami will announce the Huami Amazfit GTR 2, Amazfit GTS 2, and a new smartwatch dubbed Amazfit Neo. However, it seems that the company has more products to offer this year, and not every one of them will be a health-oriented product. Huawei has recently received Bluetooth certification for its very first smart scale. It will launch as Amazfit Smart Scale and the Amazfit app has just received support for it.

The Amazfit Smart Scale certification page was published on August 5 which is almost two weeks ago. According to the page, the scale has the model number A2003 and connects via Bluetooth 5.0. Another certification page related to it reveals that it uses a Bluetooth module supplied by Broadcom-owned Beken Corp.

As aforementioned, the new Amazfit app has just received a new update that adds an option for adding a smart scale even though the product is yet to be released. If you select the new option, you’ll see a new interface on the left. It will request you to step on it to pair the smart scale. It’s an interesting product to add to its portfolio of smarts products, but it’s not something entirely new. After all, other companies such as Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi already have smart scales in the market. Huami is just adding a new option that probably will be cheaper due to Amazfit’s nature of offering complete and affordable products.

For now, there are no many details about Amazfit Smart Scale. However, we do know that it will track weight and BMI. Hopefully, it will come packed with other features allowing the user to track muscle mass. It may provide body fat, bone density, and even more info. We believe that all the numbers and user’s personal data can be easily stored in the app. Therefore, you will be able to check your weight loss or if you’re gaining muscle mass with the time and exercises. We expect the smart scale to be integrated with other smart wearables, at least on the application.

We believe that Huami’s big event for revealing the new products will take place during IFA 2020. The company announced several products last year, so it may use the same launch window in 2020.
