After the release of the Oppo Find X2 series, the company moved forward its focus to the new Reno 4 series. In China, Oppo debuted the Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro with the Snapdragon 765G chipsets. Back in the last month, the company introduced the global counterparts of those handsets with the 4G-only Snapdragon 720G which also offers inferior performance. Now, the company is working hard to make the Reno 4 family bigger with the release of a new smartphone dubbed Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G. Turns out that the device is actually a rebranded Oppo A92s.
The Oppo A92s was listed by the Global Certification Forums as the “Oppo Reno 4 Z 5G”. This model is now confirmed by Thailand’s NBTC. Now there is no doubt, the A92 is leaving China as a Reno 4 smartphone. Thanks to it we already know a lot of the specifications present in this smartphone.

The handset will also pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage. These specifications are built around a 6.57-inch LCD display with a pill-shaped punch-hole. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 10. It draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Judging by all the specifications it’s a competitive mid-range smartphone that plays with the premium mid-range segment. The biggest highlight surely is on the 5G connectivity and the phone’s Quad Rear Camera setup.
Unfortunately, there still no word regarding the launch of the Reno 4 Z 5G. However, next month may be a good bet. After all, the IFA 2020 will start a new season of smartphone launches for some companies. Realme is attending at the event and Oppo might appear as well with new models. Moreover, there are some reports indicating that Oppo will eventually bring the 5G version of the Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro to International markets as well. We wouldn’t discard multiple launches in the coming weeks. However, the Reno 4 Z 5G is likely coming first since it already bagged multiple necessary certifications.
