Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled a bunch of new products through its Galaxy Unpacked event. Apart from the new Galaxy Note 20 series, the company has made the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G official. The new foldable phone got some attention during the event and a couple of press images were released. However, the company didn’t really unveil it by revealing the details specs and pricing points. After the August 5 event, a few promo videos came from varied sources. Now a newly-leaked full video ad popped out to give feed the enthusiasts of Samsung’s foldable phone division.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G – A new foldable display experience
The new leaked video is all about showing the Z Fold2 5G tablet-phone. Samsung states that through its new foldable smartphone “you can have it all and do it all”. It’s interesting how the company’s foldable products have a different philosophy and design language. For instance, we have the Galaxy Z Flip that when folded becomes a pocket-friendly device and when unfolded looks like a standard smartphone. The Galaxy Fold series, in counterpart, is more a smartphone that becomes a tablet when unfolded.
Gizchina News of the week
The device flaunts a 7.6-inch Ultra-Thin Glass Display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2213×1689 pixels resolution. The phone also has a distinct aspect ratio, which is closer to a square. In other words, the bottom side is longer. Well, if putting simply, the screen is 13.5% larger than the older one. Thankfully the company removed the ugly cutout or notch for the camera. Instead, we have a more elegant and less intrusive punch-hole.
The phone comes with an Adaptive Flex mode for hands-free photo and video capture. Wireless DeX is also among the phone’s highlights. The feature was announced with the Note 20, is present on the Fold, and will eventually roll out to older Galaxy phones.
Worth noting that the external 4.6-inch display is now replaced by a 6.2-inch punch-hole panel. It covers the entire front panel delivering a better experience when the phone is folded. On the opposite side, we can find an elegantly-looking camera module comprising three sensors. It’s not a surprise to see the Fold 2 following Samsung’s 2020 guidelines for design.
According to official reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G will be available for pre-orders in September. We expect the full specifications for the new cutting-edge device to appear as well.
