Chinese manufacturing giant, Huawei, is getting set to unveil what may be its last flagship series for now. The company recently announced that it will hold the IFA 2020 special event at 14:00 (20:00 Beijing time) on September 3. Huawei IFA event will take place in Berlin, Germany. Looking at Huawei’s regular practice, the company will probably unveil the new Kirin 9000 processor at this event. There are even speculations that the Huawei Mate 40 series will make an appearance.
The theme of the warm-up poster is ” Huawei’s Vision For A Seamless AI Life”. The image shows smart screens, Huawei P40 Pro, notebooks, tablets, smartwatches, and smart speakers. There are also images of Huawei smart glasses and wireless headsets.
Well, the exact schedule of this event is still under wraps and anything is possible. It is also possible that Huawei will use IFA to update its latest lineup. It could also release some of its Chinese-exclusive devices for global users.
Huawei Mate 40 series could be Huawei’s last flagship smartphone
According to reports, the Huawei Mate 40 will come with a 6.67-inch curved LG screen. This display will have a 90Hz refresh rate. In terms of cameras, there is a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. The phone also has a laser autofocus module.

There will also be a Mate 40 Pro/Mate 40 Pro+ which should use a waterfall screen from LG Display and BOE. Just like the standard version, it also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and uses a Kirin 9000 processor. In terms of cameras, It will arrive with a 50MP sensor using Huawei’s liquid camera technology. Earlier reports believed that this feature will not appear until the Huawei P50 arrives next year. However, there may not launch the P50 series. The battery capacity of the Mate 40 series is 4300 mAh, 4600 mAh, and 5000 mAh. They are applicable to Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+ respectively.
Furthermore, the Kirin 9000 SoC uses TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process. It uses the latest ARM architecture and integrates Huawei’s new NPU, 5G baseband, and other technologies,. Thus greatly enhances the performance of this chip.
