Vivo is currently working on its next-iteration of budget Y-series smartphones namely Vivo Y20 and Vivo Y20i. Both the devices have been a part of numerous leaks before and we recently saw the complete specs and promotion images as well. Well, the Chinese smartphone maker has now launched both the devices in the Indian market. Here’s what you need to know for both the recently launched devices.
Vivo Y20, Y20i: price in India, availability
Before we talk about the internals of both the devices, let’s take a look at the pricing and availability of the devices. The original Vivo Y20 smartphone will arrive in a single 4GB memory configuration. We’re also looking at two color options namely Obsidian Black and Dawn White. The toned-down Y20i version will, on the other hand, come in 3GB RAM option and in two color options – Nebula Blue and Dawn White.

The original variant will set you back around INR 12,990 (i.e. $175) while the toned-down option is priced at INR 11,490 (i.e. $155). Both the devices will be available for purchase starting from August 28 and September 3 respectively. It should be available from Vivo India’s online store, e-commerce platforms, and of course, offline retail stores.
Specs, features
Talking about the specs, both the devices are equipped with a 6.51-inch display with HD+ resolution. There is a waterdrop notch on the display that houses the front selfie camera. The display has thin bezels on the side and a sizeable chin. Under the hood, Vivo Y20 and Y20i make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset paired with 64GB of onboard storage. If that’s not enough, then you can easily expand it up to 256GB using the microSD slot.
In terms of optics, we’re looking at a triple rear camera module on the back featuring a 13MP primary sensor, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. On the other side, there is an 8MP front snapper for selfies and video calling. Powered by a large 5,000 mAh battery, the devices support 18W fast charging. For biometrics, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. We’re also looking at 3.5mm audio jack, Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10.5.
