A new member of the popular affordable UMIDIGI A7 series, the UMIDIGI A7S is apparently coming soon. UMIDIGI’s Twitter posted some render images and a teaser for it, so we can have some first ideas. UMIDIGI A7S seems to be the first entry-level phone to feature a non-contact infrared thermometer sensor. And the anti-fingerprint design is also very different from the previous UMIDIGI products.
According to the poster, we can see that UMIDIGI A7S can measure someone’s temperature without even touching the person. This is thanks to the infrared thermometer sensor, but we are not sure yet if it can also measure the temperature of objects. Infrared thermometers on smartphones is not a completely new thing, but it is actually worthy of attention right now with all the Covid-19 craziness. And such feature is very rare on the entry-level phones.
Gizchina News of the week
From the render image we can see, that A7S has a quad camera system. Three of them are used for photography and the remaining one is for the thermometer. The phone has a 3D unibody design and looks pretty good too. And the new anti-fingerprint texture, similar to Redmi 9A, is certainly a very good addition. It will also have an independent button on the left side, its function probably reserved for the thermometer. Specs are still clouded in mystery, but we can clearly see the waterdrop notch display at least.
UMIDIGI A7S is expected to go official at the start of September and its full specs will be unveiled by then. Apart from that, UMIDIGI is giving away 10 units of their new rugged camera phone BISON to thank users for their support. You can earily join the giveaway and learn more about the phone on UMIDIGI’s official website.
