Zepp launches Zepp E smartwatches in the US and UK

Zepp E

Huami has pretty much made its name thanks to the Amazfit range of smart wearable accessories. After consolidating its name with popular products like the Amazfit GTS, GTR, and Bip the company opted for an unconventional mode. Amazfit recently rebranded its Android Companion app to Zepp. Apart from a new name and logo, nothing is changed for existing owners of Amazfit wearables that can still enjoy the app. The move seems to be a way to attract more users to the Zepp portfolio, which also belongs to Huami. Today, the company announced two new smartwatches under the Zepp branding – The Zepp E Square and Zepp E Circle. These new smartwatches come with a huge focus on wellbeing. They offer heart rate monitoring, bloody-oxygen saturation monitoring, and sleep tracking monitor.

Zepp E series specifications

As aforementioned, the Zepp E is available in two distinct flavors that will perfectly adapt to your preferences. We have the Zepp E Circle and the Zepp E Square. They’re essentially the same devices but each one features a distinct size and shapes. The Circle model comes with a 1.28-inch AMOLED display with a 416 x 416 resolution. The Square model comes with a larger 1.65-inch AMOLED display with 348 x 442 pixels of resolution. Both flavors come with a stainless steel build but with different band colors and materials. Both the Circle and Square offer a leather band in “Polar Night Black” or “Moon Grey” and a fluoroelastomer band in “Onyx Black”. The Square, however, has a unique “Deep Sea Blue” leather band, “Pebble Grey” fluoroelastomer band, and “Metallic Black Special Edition”. The Circle model comes with a unique “Ice Blue” fluoroelastomer band and “Champagne Gold Special Edition.”

Among the smart features, Zepp E brings a set of advanced sleep tracking modes. For starters, it can read distinct sleep stages such as deep sleep, light sleep, and even Rapid Eye Movement. It also reads you awake time and monitors your naps. Zepp then will collect the data and provides a sleep score. Users can use this data to take some steps in wonder to improve their overall sleep quality.

Just like other modern smartwatches, the Zepp E family brings a heart-rate sensor. Zepp, however, gives a step to differentiate its product by using the sensor to provide information about stress. According to the company, this stress-monitoring feature will come in a future OTA update.

Talking about sports, the Zepp E series brings support for 11 sport modes. It includes the most common ones like cycling, swimming, outdoor running, and more. Worth noting that both smartwatches come with up to 5ATM of water resistance. Unfortunately, they don’t come with a built-in GPS for location tracking. So you will still need your smartphone for tasks involving GPS.

Zepp E Circle and Square smartwatches launch in the US and UK

The company promises up to seven days of battery life in common use scenarios. The Zepp E packs a 188mAh battery that can last up to 15 days in the basic watch mode. The smartwatches take about 2 hours to fully charge and are connected to a magnetic charging based via 2 Pogo Pin connectors. Last but not least, the wearables are running Zepp’s proprietary smartwatch OS. This operating system has five watch faces built-in. However, you can download more from the App.

The Zepp E series is selling now for $249 right now in the U.S. If you’re in the UK, the wearables will retail for £209 starting September 1.
