Back in June, Xioami’s sub-brand Poco launched its budget M2 Pro smartphone in the Indian market. The device arrived with a big battery, 33W fast charging, a large display, a quad-camera module, and more. Well, it looks like the Chinese smartphone maker is now planning to bring the vanilla or non-pro variant of the smartphone. In fact, Poco has now started the entire teasing on the social media campaign for the device.

Gizchina News of the week
Earlier today, Poco India posted a promotional teaser video announcing the launch of the smartphone in the country. The post mentions the hashtag #PowerFTW which hints towards the large battery and of course, long battery backup. The Twitter post also mentions the launch date for the smartphone. Poco is bringing the vanilla device on September 8 via Flipkart. As expected, a dedicated product page is now live on the Flipkart e-commerce website.
The product page teases the Big Display, Epic HD photos, and video calling for Longer Hours. The page further adds “check back tomorrow to know more”. This means that Flipkart will tease new information regarding the device every day. With that said, we are six days away from the official launch meaning more information will surface on the web.
Yesterday, Poco India also posted the same teaser video on YouTube mentioning the launch date. The brand has also started sending out the media invites for the same. The event will take place at 12 pm noon on the launch day. If you’re interested, you will be able to live stream the event on the company’s social media.
At the time of writing this, we don’t know much about the internals of the Poco M2 smartphone. As the name suggests, it would be a toned-down version of the M2 Pro. The last thing to note is the fact that the device will have a waterdrop notch as shown in the teaser.
Poco to also launch the X3 a day before!
Apart from the vanilla M2, Poco is also planning to launch its Poco X3 smartphone globally. The launch set for Septemeber 7 i.e. a day before the M2 India launch. The device will arrive with a Snapdragon 732G chipset along with a punch-hole display and a 20MP front selfie camera. We’re also looking at a 64MP primary sensor, 120Hz refresh rate display panel, and 4000mAh battery.
