The latest report regarding South Korea’s 5G subscribers shows that as of July 2020, the Asian nation has nearly 8 million subscribers. The South Korean Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology revealed this information earlier today. Their data shows that 5G users in South Korea hit 7.86 million in July, an increase of 487,000 from the previous month. According to data from the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology, South Korea currently has 69.8 million mobile communication users. This means that the proportion of 5G users is 11.3%.

Presently, there are still 54.9 million 4G users in South Korea which make up 78.65%. Despite the fact that 5G users increased by about 500,000, the number of 4G users did not decrease by the same amount. In the same period when 5G users increased by 487,000, 4G users only decreased by 15,054.

Driven by 5G, the overall number of mobile communication users in South Korea is also increasing. The current 69.8 million mobile communication subscribers is an increase of 174,200 from the previous month.
